Indledningsbøn

Opening prayer

Salme 1 / Hymn no. 1

1. Nu takker alle Gud
med hjerte, mund og hænder,
som overflødigt godt
os uforskyldt tilsender,
som os fra moders liv
og første barndomsstund
i alt vort levneds tid
velsigned mangelund!

2. Den evig rige Gud,
han os fremdeles give
fred og frimodighed,
mens vi er her i live,
så vi i nåde stå
hos ham og på vor bøn
få hjælp i nød og død,
til sidst hans nådeløn!

3. Gud Fader med Guds Søn
og Helligånd tillige
ske tak og lov og pris
i høje Himmerige!
Treenig Gud, som var
og er og bliver, dig
vort takke-offer frem
vi bær’ ydmygelig

1. Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and
voices,
Who wondrous things has done, in whom this world
rejoices;
Who from our mothers’ arms has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

2. O may this bounteous God through all our life be near
us,
With ever joyful hearts and blessèd peace to cheer us;
And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed;
And free us from all ills, in this world and the next!

3. All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given;
The Son and Him who reigns with Them in highest
Heaven;
The one eternal God, whom earth and Heaven adore;
For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore
.

Salme 2 / Hymn no. 2

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream
Flows from Calvary’s mountain.
Refrain
In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the bright and morning star
Sheds its beams around me.
Refrain

Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day,
With its shadows o’er me.
Refrain

Near the cross I’ll watch and wait
Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.
Refrain

Salme 4 / Hymn no. 4

1. Hvad skal jeg give min Frelser?
Hvad skal jeg gøre for ham?
Røgelse, myrra, juveler
ej kan forslå til Guds Lam.
// Jesus mig selv jeg dig bringer,
lægger mig ned for din fod,
at du mig evigt skal eje,
jeg er jo købt med dit blod. //

2. Hvad skal jeg give min Frelser?
Læber, som priser hans navn,
fødder, som går ad hans stier,
dyrtkøbte sjæle til gavn.

3. Hvad skal jeg give min Frelser?
Evigt jeg tjene ham vil,
elske ham, følge ham, leve
for, hvad han kalder mig til.

English

1. What shall I bring to the Savior?
What shall I lay at His feet?
I have no glittering jewels,
No gold, no frankincense sweet.
Refrain
Gifts to the Savior I’m bringing,
Love’s richest treasures to lay
Low at His feet with rejoicing,
Ere yonder sunset today.

2. What shall I bring to the Savior?
Lips His dear praises to sing,
Feet that will walk in the pathway,
Leading to Jesus, our king!
Refrain

Love that is purest and best,
Life in its sweetness and beauty,
All for His service, so blest.

1. Savior, like a shepherd lead us,
Much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use Thy folds prepare.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus!
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus!
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

2. We are Thine, Thou dost befriend us,
Be the guardian of our way;
Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us,
Seek us when we go astray.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus!
Hear, O hear us when we pray.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus!
Hear, O hear us when we pray.

3. Thou hast promised to receive us,
Poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us,
Grace to cleanse and power to free.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus!
We will early turn to Thee.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus!
We will early turn to Thee.

4. Early let us seek Thy favor,
Early let us do Thy will;
Blessèd Lord and only Savior,
With Thy love our bosoms fill.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus!
Thou hast loved us, love us still.
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus!
Thou hast loved us, love us still.
